[AMD] Re: Tu-154/ Fly DC-9

Now I don't want to start any great debate on this and I certainly didn't mean the box isn't good, but most European kits are being issued that way nowadays, and it is a personal thing that I find annoying that I have to keep said box for decal placement, while now having to put the rest of the kit into a plastic box, after having parts fall out one or other end with the end flaps closed, even though it is in a plastic bag inside, once that plastic bag is open, good luck, unless you want to keep taping up the pastic bag.

If costs of boxes were such a huge problem, why do they make boxes that are so much bigger than the kits? One only needs to compare the original Airfix boxing of the DC9, which grew in size over reissues, or was that to get product placement on the retailers shelf?

I will apologize now in case this offends anyone, it was not meant that way, just a very personal opinion.

And please keep the ads coming

And I would certainly take issue with Graeme's review on Airliner Cafe the 'The kit comes in a crappy end opening box, with the colour markings and decal placement on the rear of the box'. Crappy it ain't but the rest of his description is correct. The box costs money and clearly it would be possible to put it in a different box but all it would do is put the cost of the kit up. Are people prepared to pay more for a kit just to get a better box? If you prefer one with a separate lid, and I won't argue with you on that subject just keep the next one you do and use that box for the models with end openings.
