Yes, this is the factory Sandrigham, and yes,it does make it look pretty elegant.

I guess so. I've forgotten most of what I ever knew about Sunderlands/Sandringhams, but the conversion part is definitely a streamlined, sloping nose (with outline of mooring hatch molded in) and not the clunky-original-bulged-Sunderland-nose-with-turret-replaced-by-ugly-metal-fairing (how's that for technical terminology?), which is presumably what you are referring to in the Hythe class. It definitely gives a rather elegant look to the old Sunderland airframe.
