I believe the BV-107's used to land near the AA Terminal at JFK until 1968 or 1969. When they were replaced by the four S-61L's they landed near the TWA Terminal.
An even rarer bird is the S-61N seen during the 1964-1965 NY Worlds Fair, painted in TWA/NY Airways colors. Some folks have said that it was just a mockup on the Fair Grounds (which there was), but there is film footage of it landing on the roof of the Port Authority Pavilion on the PBS program "Bill Moyers' A Walk through the 20th Century - Come to the Fairs". TWA used to offer service from the airport to the fair. It really did exist.
Anyone have a picture of that rare S-61N helicopter? Or know the identity?
P.S. - CMul0256 . . . which one are you working on, the Tamiya? The windows on that kit have to be corrected - they're too big and too close.

It was resumed again in the 1970's and ran until 1977/78 when the S-63L rolled over on its side on the Pan Am rooftop heliport.
