Re: [AMD] Re: Hawk CV-240

Hi Ben,
The Hawk/Testors kit is a 1/126 scale Convair 240. The reason people perpetuate that "mixed scale" nonsense is because at some point the exhausts chutes on the engines were modified to resemble the CV340's. Hence...people assumed it was supposed to be a 340. If you take the model and do the math...it works out to be a pretty accurate -- and consistent -- 1/126 CV240 in both wingspan and fuselage length. Also...another clue is that the kit has 10 pax windows....not the 340's 11 windows.

Hi all,

Did I read somewhere that the fuselage is 1/144 and the wings are some other scale? Or was it the other way around? I've got a Sasquatch 240 kit that I'll one day try to beat into submission, and it would be a lot easier to do if I could replace the fuselage. The wings aren't too bad, but the fuselage will need a lot of help.

Thanks!
