Like Revell, Airfix has been through several iterations, and several companies in the U.S. They set up USAirfix to import the models into the U.S..There was also, Craftmaster, and, for awhile, both MPC and Airfix were owned by the General Mills food company. Then, MPC boxed the Airfix kits. But, Airfix was still Airfix in G.B. or is it U.K.? Airfix and Heller were also owned by Humbrol, but, I believe they are separate companies again. Now, Airfix imports their models using the Airfix label. Airfix has always been there, and still produces old and new kits, mostly old ones, though.

Hello Richard! Thanks for your reply. The kit looks well detailed, I would prefer though to get the BraZ CF6-50 engines. The box doesn't say if its an Airfix 747-100 or -200 series. Maybe you can correct me on this. I remember when 'US Airfix' came out their 727s and other models than it was 'Airfix'. I remember that from the 1970's. But on the box it has an Airfix website, I thought Airfix products were no longer around but to my surprise this 747 kit looks as if it was made somewhat recently since again there's a website for Airfix. I admit this is my first build of a jumbo jet in 1/144 scale in about 26 years so its a challenge for sure. I'll check on Russell's airline hobby site for those BraZ CF6 engines. Thanks again for the reply.
