As far as I know, pictures are allowed, within reason of course, as we do not want to flood people's inboxes. A few "teaser" pictures in the email are fine, with a direction to the group of the photo album you create in the group's 'Photos' section, where you can upload all the pictures you want, in large or whatever size you want. Yahoo nowadays allows pictures of any size pretty much, and they give you an option to see the picture in medium (thumbnail), large, and original size (what you upload)
If the pictures are send as an attachment (instead of as an inline HTML picture like what I just sent), Yahoo archives them in the "Attachments" folder.
